Tobacco – Trends & Talk – interactive nicotine prevention with the Tobacco Suitcase
Target Group:
Teachers and staff from the psycho-socio-educational field
Description:
As part of the Génération Sans Tabac 2040 strategy, the Fondation Cancer, with the support of the Centre National de Prévention des Addictions (CNAPA), has developed the didactic material “Tobacco Suitcase — tobacco products and other nicotine products” — a collection of interactive methods for preventive work. This training provides, among other things, concrete instructions and tips for using the tobacco case.
Many adolescents have their first experiences with nicotine in a social environment — often together with peers while smoking a cigarette, consuming a hookah (shisha) or vaping an e‑cigarette. What initially starts as curious experimentation can quickly develop into a regular habit and eventually into an addiction. Nicotine-containing products are among the psychoactive substances with the highest addictive potential.
A central question of this training is therefore: How can non-consuming adolescents be encouraged to say “NO”?
And how do you encourage smoking adolescents to critically reflect on their nicotine consumption — ideally with the aim of considering behavioral changes? In addition to basic information about known nicotine-containing products and new trends, practical methods from the “Tobacco Suitcase” are presented in this training and their possible applications are worked out together.
Participants not only gain more content security in dealing with the topic, but also concrete and practical approaches for everyday professional life.
