Moderator Training Tom & Lisa”
Prevention workshop on the subject of alcohol for school classes

Target Group:

Teachers and staff from the psycho-social-educational sector

Description:

In this training, participants are qualified to conduct Tom & Lisa” — a prevention workshop on the subject of alcohol for school classes. The goal is for the participants to subsequently implement this workshop in their schools using a method box (guidelines & materials).

The objectives of Tom & Lisa”:

Many teenagers have their first experiences with alcohol between the ages of 13 and 15. The initiation into alcohol consumption often takes place outside the family framework in peer groups, that is, at private parties or public festivals. When teenagers start experimenting with alcohol, it can be dangerous. They often cannot estimate how alcohol affects them and where their personal limits are. Consequences such as accidents, violence or severe alcohol poisoning therefore pose immediate dangers to teenagers.

The workshop Tom & Lisa” for grades 7e to 5e aims at the following objectives:

  • Providing information on risks and dangers in dealing with alcohol

  • Promoting risk competence

  • Correction of myths about alcohol consumption

  • Practicing the right action in emergency situations

  • Strengthening non-consumers

  • Stimulation of family exchange

  • Getting to know further assistance.

Workshop Tom & Lisa”:

The core of the interactive workshop is the simulation of the birthday party of Tom and Lisa. The two invite the class to plan and celebrate the party together. The students work in teams to prepare the party and celebrate it with the associated risks. This way, the students learn in a playful way what responsible handling of alcohol looks like and how to react correctly in dangerous situations.
