2C‑B is a synthetic substance belonging to the phenethylamine group. It is a powerful psychedelic that can also produce stimulant effects.
After MDMA was banned in several countries, 2C‑B was temporarily used as a substitute substance in ecstasy tablets, which contributed to its spread within party scenes. Until the late 1990s, 2C‑B was also marketed under the name “Nexus,” including as an aphrodisiac, before being banned in many countries.

- Dissolution of boundaries between oneself and the surroundings

Risks and side effects
- Anxiety, panic (up to fear of dying), risk of a “bad trip”
- Reduced judgement and decision-making ability
- Disturbed consciousness, confusion, disorientation
- Reduced concentration, drowsiness, dizziness
- Inner restlessness, overstimulation, and insomnia
- Nausea and vomiting
- Increased heart rate and elevated blood pressure
- Unpleasant fluctuations in body temperature between feeling hot and cold
- Burning pain and irritation of the nasal mucosa when snorted
- Unwanted erections
Long-term risks
There are only a few scientific studies on the long-term effects of 2C‑B, so available data is limited.
- However, it is generally assumed that the potential for physical dependence is very low. Psychological dependence is possible but appears to be relatively uncommon.
- People with pre-existing mental health vulnerabilities may experience psychotic episodes triggered by use.
- Tolerance may also develop, repeated use can lead to habituation, meaning higher doses are needed to achieve the same effects.
Good to know …
- 2C‑B belongs to the so-called “2CX” substances – a family of psychedelic phenethylamines first synthesized in the 1970s. 2C‑B is the best-known derivative, but not the only one. Different 2CX substances share similar core effects but can differ significantly in dosage, intensity, and duration.
- The effects of 2C‑B depend heavily on dosage: lower amounts tend to produce more stimulating and euphoric effects, while higher doses lead to much stronger psychedelic and hallucinogenic experiences. Particular caution with dosing is important, as even small differences in amount can cause major changes in effects.
- 2C‑B is less commonly snorted because taking it through the nose is often associated with intense burning pain and irritation of the nasal mucosa, which can make the experience particularly unpleasant.
- Since the substance is also commonly sold in pill form and these pills may visually resemble classic MDMA tablets, there is an increased risk of confusion.
„Tusi“, „Pink Cocaine“, „Tucibi“ ≠ 2C‑B
“Tusi,” also known as “Pink Cocaine” or “Tucibi,” is not the same as 2C‑B. Tusi is a pink-colored mixture whose composition can vary greatly and often contains little or no 2C‑B. The name and color are misleading. The actual substances contained can only be identified through analysis, as there is no standardized composition or fixed mixing ratio for Tusi.
Aphrodisierende Wirkung & „Safer Sex“
2C‑B can increase sexual desire and physical sensitivity. These effects vary depending on the dose, situation, and individual. At the same time, use can impair judgement and perception, which may increase the risk of unwanted sexual situations.
It is important that sex only takes place when both people give clear and explicit consent. Consent must always be present and respected.
To reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies, the use of condoms is recommended.
There is no such thing as a risk-free consumption of legal and illegal drugs!
