First Aid for Mental Health — Youth

Teachers, educational staff, youth workers, parents

Description:

An offer from CNAPA in cooperation with the​“Ligue Santé Mentale”.

The First Aid Course for Mental Health provides basic knowledge about mental illnesses and acute crises. The aim is to enable par­tic­i­pants to recognize mental stress early, to address those affected in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner, and to encourage them to seek pro­fes­sion­al help.

This training is not a diagnostic or therapeutic instrument, but a practical tool for early support in case of mental stress. Topics covered include, among others:

  • Depressions and anxiety disorders

  • Addiction issues

  • Psychotic episodes

  • Eating disorders

  • Acute crises (e.g., suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, aggressive behaviors)

Objectives:

Par­tic­i­pants acquire basic knowledge about mental disorders in adolescence and learn how to provide first aid to adolescents and young adults in the field of mental health.
